Disagree - when your short stacked with only 3 -4 x blinds and antes left, its time to make your move. Bearing in mind that at that stage of the tournament there was alot of stealing going on as well, and the guy UTG was quite aggressive, so there was at least a chance he was holding only a marginal.
personally i wouldnt of pushed there. With a raise and a caller, you know ure gettin called and ure 50/50 at best i think. The blinds are 2/4 and you had 32 k wasnt it ?
I woulda waited until i was in a unraised pot and pushed to rob the blinds+antes. They added up to over 7k, you rob them just twice and you've added almost 50% to ure stack. Even if you get caught robbing and they call as long as they dont have a overpair or you dominated your only gonna be a 60/40 dog or there abouts.
On another note i just came 3rd in a $6 tourny on VCpoker.com. Down to 3 handed chip leader is a total donk, he had already beat AK with A9 all in and then AJ with A7 on the final table. i completed from small blind with J,10 suited after the leader limped on the button. Flop comes down 7,J,10 i check and he fires out 20k (blinds were 4k/8k) i had around 120, leader was on like 170 and the other guy was below 75. I re-raise all in with top two pair and he calls with K7, the turn brings a 7 for one of his 5 outs :( got $120, he won on the next hand when the small stack pushed in and he took $300 :'(

nah its a tourny, im my one i paid $6 to enter, you get 2,000 chips at start and play until you lose them all or win the tourny, you get paid by how high you finish.
Zilla 40k one was probably a lot more to enter though :D

nice finish Odin :thumbsup unlucky not to do better with that hand.
In my tourny the blinds + antes for one round totalled $8k, so had 3 rounds at best with the blinds due to increase further. So although I had $33k I was short stacked.
I don't think either play was wrong to be honest - the only real bad play would of been to just call imo.
You could either make your stand there and go all in like I did , or fold and hold to get a better chance in the next 8 -10 hands, at that point you would of had to start pushing with any 2 cards.
yeh calling woulda been suicidal really lol.

been doing good at the casino recently :dance
won about £1,400 in the last few weeks. i've had 3 2nd places & 1 1st place (split the cash headsup)
odins' had a 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th & won a seat in a multi table tournament to the £500 buy in UK Pot Limit Open :thumbsup
Figs had a 2nd too :thumbsup
